Easter at Highgate 2010

Churches Together in Halifax West met at our local ASDA to sing Easter hymns and hand out hot cross buns (courtesy of ASDA) and an Easter message to the shoppers, which was very well received.
At Highgate we journeyed through lent adding a symbol to the wooden cross every Sunday and Good Friday was marked with nails. On Easter Sunday the cross was transformed into a beautiful picture of life, renewal and resurrection.

27th September 2009 - what a day this was!! We celebrated the Baptism of Baby Warren, our annual Harvest Festival and Back to Church Sunday. The church was packed; we worshipped, painted, celebrated and sung together in good Highgate style and hope that you too felt the "buzz" and the Spirit's presence!

The church was beautifully decorated. Here are some impressions:

We collected money for Caring For Life, a charity based in Leeds that looks after vulnerable people not only for a set period of time but - if necessary - "for life".

Our Banner Group produced their first banner for this occasion and even got it finished in time!

Thanks to everyone involved in preparing, supporting and attending this fantastic day. We hope you all enjoyed it. And if you joined us for the first time and would like to come back remember: you can COME AS YOU ARE - you are very welcome at any time!

On 25th and 26th April 2009 we celebrated our Church Anniversary with a Praise Concert with the North Shropshire Methodist Youth Choir and a service led by Rev David Cooper.

Our "Coffee and Carols" Service on 14th December 2008 was very enjoyable, and the carols sung by the children were a special "highlight".
